Savannakhet Fine Art School Charcoal Workshop

This exhibition celebrates the artwork of students from Savannakhet Fine Art School, & Thai art teachers, who participated in charcoal workshops held as part of a series of art workshops in Savannakhet, in early 2023. Students were introduced to the process of creating and using an ancient & natural drawing material.

First stage of the workshop was an exploration of the process of burning mulberry wood to create charcoal drawing sticks. Secondly, charcoal drawing techniques were introduced by the Thai - Esan artist group; landscape, city-scape, portraits & still life.

A public exhibition was held in Savannakhet : Old Building in front of Museum, 17 - 31 May 2023

# The series of workshops were organized by Souphaluck Psavath, facilitated by Pha Tad Ke and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC
